Boarding point of already booked tickets can be done till 24 hours before the chart preparation time.Once you change the boarding point, that will be the new boarding point, and you are not allowed to enter the train from your previous boarding point. Doing so will be considered as ticket less travel, and TTE can fine you for the same.
Change boarding point in new IRCTC website is very easy.
1. Login to Your IRCTC account through which you had booked you ticket
2. Select My Account - My Transaction - Booked Ticket History
3.Select the ticket for which you need to alter the boarding point
4. You will see "Change Boarding Point" button below traveler details.
4. Click on the button, and select your desired boarding point.
